A photo showing tears streaming down the face of a Haitian-born
cadet at West Point Military Academy's graduation ceremony has
caught attention worldwide.
Alix Idrache emigrated from Haiti in 2009, earned his US
citizenship and served for two years as an enlisted soldier with the
Maryland Army National Guard before entering the top military
school.
According to the Washington Post, quoting US Army records.
Idrache said he was "humbled and shocked" and was thankful for
being able to live the "American Dream"
The academy shared the photo on their official Facebook page,
writing: "No greater feeling than that of accomplishment!
#DutyHonorCountry"
The post has since gone viral and garnered over 22,000 Likes and
9,000 Shares.
